Honeycomb Paper

Carton

A honeycomb carton is essentially a box constructed from panels of honeycomb paper cardboard. The core consists of a lattice of hexagonal cells—akin to a natural beehive—ranging from 8–25 mm in cell diameter, glued between outer facings of paperboard (typically 0.2–1 mm thick). These cartons are often die-cut and folded into shape, offering a rigid, lightweight alternative to traditional corrugated boxes, foam-lined containers, or plastic packaging. They come in various sizes, from small retail boxes (e.g., 20 x 20 x 20 cm) to larger shipping cartons (e.g., 60 x 40 x 40 cm), depending on the intended use.

Applications

  • Logistics and Shipping
  • Retail and E-commerce
  • Industrial Use
  • Food and Beverage
  • Electronics

The interior of honeycomb cardboard is a hexagonal structure, and the interior is completely closed. This is different from the top and bottom transparent structure of corrugated cardboard. Moisture and humidity are not easy to enter and exit freely. This solves to a certain extent the problem of corrugated cardboard boxes collapsing during the rainy season.

Key Benefits

  • Honeycomb cartons save 30% more material than corrugated cartons of the same size
  • The flat compression strength of honeycomb paperboard is more than 20 times that of corrugated paper
  • The stack height of corrugated cardboard is about 2 meters, and the height of honeycomb cardboard can reach 6 meters, saving storage costs
