Paper Core. Carton Strength
Honeycomb Cardboard Box
A honeycomb cardboard box is built from paperboard panels with a closed hexagonal core, usually 8–25 mm cells, glued between thin kraft facings. Die-cut and folded, it stays rigid at a lower weight than a heavy corrugated shipper or a foam-lined pack. The cell core takes compression through the thickness, so flat-crush strength is much higher than ordinary corrugated board of similar weight. Closed cells also slow moisture movement, which helps reduce collapse on humid routes. It typically uses about 30% less material than a same-size corrugated carton and is recyclable with cardboard where local rules allow. Sizes run from small retail packs to larger shipping cartons. Thickness, cell size, and liner are made to order for logistics, e-commerce, electronics, and industrial parts.

Frequently Asked Questions About Honeycomb Cardboard Box
How is it different from a corrugated box?
Corrugated board has open flutes. Honeycomb board has a closed cell core, so flat-crush strength is higher for the weight, and moisture does not move through the wall as freely. Jingpak states the carton uses about 30% less material than a same-size corrugated carton.
What sizes and thicknesses can you make?
Size is custom. Examples run from small retail packs, such as 20 × 20 × 20 cm, to shipping cartons around 60 × 40 × 40 cm. Board thickness is commonly 10–50 mm, with a wider site range of 6–80 mm set to the load.
How strong is the box?
Strength depends on wall thickness, cell size, liner weight, and stack height. It is used for compressive support and clean stacking, not as a substitute for a timber crate on very heavy or high-shock loads. Smaller cells and thicker walls raise crush resistance.
Can it replace a wooden crate or plastic bin?
For many light to medium industrial and export loads, yes. It is lighter, nails are not required, and it is easier to recycle. Very heavy or high-impact shipments may still need wood or a tested heavy-duty build.
Is it recyclable?
Yes. It is paper-based and can go into cardboard recycling where local rules allow, if free of heavy film, foam, or contaminated adhesive.
Does it resist moisture?
Closed cells slow moisture movement compared with open flutes, which helps on humid routes. Untreated kraft is not waterproof and loses strength when wet. A moisture-resistant liner can be specified.
What styles are available?
Folded cartons, lid-and-base sets, and sleeves. Hand holes, print, handling marks, and corner frames can be added. Pallet boxes are a separate, heavier format.
What information do you need for a quote?
Length, width, height, wall thickness, load and stack height, drop or route notes, kraft or white liner, quantity, and destination. A drawing or sample speeds the die.
HS code used for export?
The HS code used for export is 4823909000
What is the lead time after PO confirmation?
The lead time is 7 days after PO confirmation.
Sample policy?
Samples are free of charge. Freight is paid by the customer.
