Extra-Large Shipping Cartons
Extra-large shipping cartons are heavy-duty corrugated boxes made for products that do not fit a standard carton. Built in double- or triple-wall board, they take furniture, appliances, machinery parts and other bulky freight through warehouse handling and export without jumping to a wood crate. Each carton can be cut to your product size, stacked on a pallet, and shipped flat to cut inbound freight. Use them when you need more cube, higher compression strength, and a recyclable pack for oversized goods.

Frequently Asked Questions About Heavy-Duty Extra-Large Shipping Cartons
Can it replace a wood crate?
Often yes for medium-weight furniture, cabinets and equipment covers. It is lighter, ships flat and is recyclable. Very heavy or high-impact loads may still need timber, steel or extra inner blocking.
How is it different from a Paper IBC or Gaylord?
An extra-large shipping carton is a closed transit box. A Paper IBC or Gaylord is a bulk bin for loose liquids or granules. Use a carton for a unit load; use an IBC for bulk fill.
What board should I specify?
Double wall (5-ply) covers most XL packs. Triple wall (7-ply) is better for heavy equipment, high stacks or export. Strength is usually quoted as 44–55+ ECT or 275# / 350# Mullen.
Can it be used for dangerous goods?
Yes, when the carton is UN-tested and certified for the specific dangerous goods. Uncertified cartons are for non-hazardous freight only.
What sizes can you make?
Custom L × W × H to the product. Common ranges: 700–1000 mm XL, pallet-match 1200 × 1000 or 1200 × 800 mm, and long packs over 1200 mm. Send inner size, weight and stack height for a drawing.
Are they shipped assembled?
No. Cartons ship knocked-down flat. You erect them on site, usually on a pallet.
How should I close and handle them?
Tape the flaps, then strap with edge protectors. Lift by the pallet only. Mark orientation and centre of gravity on two faces. Keep packs dry — wet board loses stacking strength.
Can they be printed?
Yes. Handling marks, arrows, logos and barcodes are common. Full-colour print is available on request.
How many sets fit in a 40HQ container?
A 40HQ container typically holds 500 to 1,000 sets, depending on the box size.

What should I specify when ordering?
Inner L × W × H, packed weight, single/double/triple wall, style (RSC, HSC, telescope), print, pallet size, destination climate, stack height and volume.
What is the lead time after PO confirmation?
The lead time is 7 days after PO confirmation.

Samples are free of charge. Freight is paid by the customer.
